Alabama High School Graduation Exam The Alabama High School Graduation Exam (AHSGE) tests eleventh-grade students on language,reading, mathematics, science, and social studies. To receive a diploma for the State of Alabama, a student must pass all the sections in addition to completing the required Carnegie units of credit asestablished by the Alabama State Board of Education and the local school district.
