Anyone is welcome to get involved with WPEB!
As a volunteer-run project, there’s no shortage of ways to contribute.  For more information than what's listed below, please contact a Committee Chairperson or call (215) 222-4201.

• Come to a Monthly Meeting, held the first Monday of every month, for an orientation to the station at 6pm and a general membership meeting at 6:30.
• Becoming a Member is the best way to help the station.  Members shape the direction of the station by voting on important issues.  They pay yearly dues on a sliding scale and volunteer on a station committee.**
• Host a Show on a subject or genre of music you are passionate about.**
• Volunteer as a non-Member on a committee or sign up online for our occasional calls for volunteers.
• Make a donation or contact an inter-committee liaison to make a donation of services or items.  As a noncommercial radio station, all donations are tax-deductible.  Contact the Chairs of the Fundraising Committee for a receipt.
• Underwrite a Show.
• Check our To-Do List and help with the needs written there
• LISTEN and spread the word about the station and its mission.  You can download fliers here.

How can I get a show on the air?
On our Documents page, you can find a copy of WPEB’s Programming policy and download an application.  You should also bear in mind the mission of the radio station when developing your show. 

Submit your application to programming.wbeb88.1fm@gmail.com.  If you do not have email, please contact the Programming Committee Chairpeople to submit an Application via postal mail.

Pending approval, you will receive an orientation, technical training and a trial show.  Every show will be reviewed following the end of each year’s term.

DJs and Broadcasters are required to become members of the station and serve on one of the stations working committees.

How can I become a Member?
To become a voting Member of WPEB you must pay a nominal annual Membership fee, become an active participant in one of WPEB’s working committees, and volunteer at least 20 hours to the project.  While the latter two requirements may seem unusual and involved, this policy meant to encourage a reciprocal commitment between WPEB and our community.

•    Membership is $20 - $50 on a sliding scale.
•    Student and Senior Membership is $5 - $25 on a sliding scale.
•    Institutional Membership for local organizations and businesses is $200 - $1000 on a sliding scale.

You can also become a non-member Friend of WPEB by donating any denomination. 

You can download a membership application from this webpage and submit it with your membership fee via mail to Scribe Video Center - 4212 Chestnut St., 3rd Floor - Philadelphia, PA 19104.  You can also deliver the application by hand to Scribe or to the Radio during a General Monthly Meeting the first Monday of every month.

How can I underwrite a Show?
Underwriting is a great way to help support a community radio station while spreading word about your business.  Underwriting is significantly cheaper than standard advertising, but there are certain limits to what exactly can be broadcast.  Please contact the Fundraising Committee Chairpeople for more information.
