2 Meter band colineal antenna
Original design by John Conklin WD0O - redesign and adaptations by Antonio Pontón WP4NAL
List of materials
| 1. Upper element = 1 aluminum tube 3/4" diameter x 48-3/4" long |
2. Lower element = 1 aluminum tube 3/4" diameter x 78 3/4" long.
3. Matching stub = 1 aluminum tube 3/4" diameter x 23" long.
| 4. Phasing stub = | 1continuous thread bolt 10-24 x 22" long (galvanized or stainless steel) |
5. Insulator = cilindrical wood, plastic or fiberglass (non-conductive) stub x 9" long and with a diameter that will fit inside the 3/4" pipe.
6. Bolts for the phasing stub = four (4) stainless steel
| 10-24 |
| 7. Washers for the phasing stub = (4) | 10-24 |
8. Bolts for the gamma match = two (2)
| 3/16" diameter x 3 1/2" (bronze or stainless steel). |
| 9. Nuts for the gamma match = six ( | 6) | 3/16" diameter (bronze or stainless steel). |
10. Presure washers = six (
| 6) | 3/16" diameter (bronze or stainless steel). |
11. Hose clamp = two (2) stainless steel hose clamps x 1" diameter. Used to connect the coax to the antenna.
| 12. U bolt = at least two (2) Radio Shack or similar for 1 1/2" pipe mast. This is used to secure the antenna to the mast (not shown in the drawing for clarity.) |
| 12. Plastic cap = two (2) caps for 3/4" diameter pipe. This goes at the top of pipes. If you like, you can put two more at the bottom of the pipes to prevent insects from crawling inside. |
| 13. Silicon o RV-Sealer = used to seal anything that may leak, specially the exposed coax endings and the area around the hose clamps. |
| 14. Refreshments = just to make it more fun while you build the antenna. |
