ORE in Haiti, a non-profit who are helping with on-going earthquake relief work & have been working since 1985 with Haitians in need, training them in tree cultivation, particularly avocado and mango trees - a viable way to feed their families while also helping the environment Central Asia Institute ~ bringing schools for girls to isolated low-income mountain communities in Pakistan & Afghanistan
Current W.E. projects ~ Cob walls & urban organic gardening Resonance Repatterning ~ the powerful self-healing system that has spread worldwide by word of mouth Veg/an Network ~ a network of vegan and vegetarian intentional communities | About Wowkay Enterprises LLC Vision Wowkay Enterprises LLC was established with the goal of becoming a "social business" ~ a for-profit business whose goal is social and environmental benefit. Both aspects (financial viability and social/environmental benefit) are equally important in achieving our vision, so Wowkay went into action from the very beginning on the benefit goal even though financially we have yet to do more than break even. Benefit projects Wowkay contributes in various ways to benefit projects, whether local tree planting (2006 on), pro bono editing work (2002-2009), pro bono RR consultation sessions (2004 on), or financial contributions to groups dedicated to helping others. Meaning "Wowkay" means Yes indeed, Yes we can, Yes to life. It's an expression in Wolof, one of the languages of West Africa ~ wow meaning 'yes'. We chose Wowkay as our name because it reminds us to keep moving towards what is positive ~ with hope, confidence and joy. By divine grace, all of us can ~ and that's the underlying meaning of our tagline: Wowkay ~ W.E. can! Products Any products W.E. creates or promotes support human health and well-being. At the same time, we are conscious of the potential for negative environmental impact, so we continue to cool the earth by planting trees and nourishing the soil with organic matter, and we do what we can to encourage others to do so too ~ including you! Every little helps turn the tide on global warming.
