DOER is a Voluntary Services Program initiated by PARIWARTAN, a grassroots-level voluntary organization endeavoring towards the equitable and sustainable development of the mountainous regions of India. DOER Voluntary Services Program acts as a bridge to gap the needs of the under-developed and marginalized communities of the Himalayan region and the enthusiastic people who are keen to help these communities in an environment friendly way. It is significant to understand that the general outlook over the volunteerism has kept on changing consistently for long. Today volunteerism is considered not only as an independent service to support the needy communities and/or to protect the environment, but it is also seen as an effective mechanism for inner-contentment and personality development. A volunteer in present scenario gets back countless rewarding outputs and experiences that eventually help him/her to be a self-motivated leader in life. Now, volunteering means to strive for attaining fulfillment of one’s inner-self.
It is proven that skilled and semi-skilled volunteers possess huge potential to contribute effectively towards the socio-economic development of the poor communities and conservation of nature. Keeping this in view, PARIWARTAN has developed the DOER Voluntary Services Program which ensures the provision of value-driven, contentment-oriented voluntary assignments to individuals/organizations willing to contribute voluntarily towards the welfare of the marginalized communities and fragile eco-systems of the Himalayas.
