Promoting access and ability for youth in San Mateo County since 2001

Work Transition Services (WTS) is a 501(c)(3) private nonprofit organization established in 2001. Our Career Transition Specialists provide one-on-one vocational support and services to youth between 16 and 22 who are interested in gaining competitive work experience. We operate several programs to serve their vocational needs:

   1. Life Transition Project
   2. Life Skills Curriculum
   3. Employer Mentorship Program

In addition to providing direct client services through Life Transition Project, WTS is working on its latest endeavor to develop an Employer Mentorship Program which brings employers into the classrooms to work with youth and help present Life Skills Curriculum while lending their expertise to increase youth understanding and management of the demands and opportunities in the workplace.

WTS Celebrates Commencement of Third Grant Cycle!

Fall 2008 marked the beginning of third grant cycle for Work Transition Services. Since 2002, WTS has helped over 500 youth with disabilities and social barriers gain valuable job experience, plan for their careers and college while making the transition to the world of work. We are expanding the scope of Life Transition Project and refining the framework to bridge the experience of disabled youth with the experience of employers.

We welcome your participation in making a difference in the lives of youth by making a personal donation, using Target REDcard when shopping, donating your used car to Cars 4 Causes, and volunteering with WTS. Contact us today to see how to get involved!
WTS Newsletter

WTS sends out quarterly newsletters to parents, teachers, referral sources, and community partners with updates on program progress, achievements, and administrative information. We also take this opportunity to recognize community partners and employers who have contributed to help youth in the community.
