We
are pleased to announce the IX Workshop on Formal Linguistics, to be held on August 30 - 31, 2012 at Universidade Federal do Rio de Janeiro (UFRJ) in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil. The Workshop welcomes papers on any topic concerning formal accounts to meaning and structure with relevance to linguistic theory, and which explores either core aspects of grammar, or some interface phenomena (syntax-semantics, syntax-prosody, morpho-syntax, morpho-phonology, semantics-pragmatics, lexical semantics, language acquisition, language change). The conference is open to work done from any theoretical perspective in formal linguistics. The official language of the conference is English.
MINI-COURSES
We
are also pleased to announce that, as part of the activities of the workshop, Professors Chris Kennedy (University of Chicago) and Gregory Carlson (University of Rochester) will offer 3-day mini-courses from August 27 to August 29, 2012.
