Workshop on theoretical and practical reasons

For the most part, the philosophical explanations of epistemic reasons (reasons for belief) and practical reasons (reasons for actions) have been pursued in different areas of the discipline (epistemology and ethics, respectively). This workshop aims at bringing the different strands of investigation together.

Some of the best young philosophers in the field will explore central issues regarding the relation of practical and epistemic reasons and practical rationality, focusing on various questions regarding the explanation of reasons for belief, the role of values and intentions, and the nature of reasons for action.
