Things to consider:

Copyright!!!! Everything online belongs to someone. Make sure they want to share with you!
Fair use Showing a  picture to your class- fine. Putting it on your website- not so fine.
Wild world of searching images online... Tags, titles, keywords and tales of woe. Safe search? Somewhat.

Compfight A flickr creative commons search tool. To search for images, make sure that Creative Commons search is turned to only.
 
Google Images Creative Commons Search... coming soon to a browser near you!
 
Picasa has a creative commons search. Go to explore, then search, then click on Options ands choose the level of licensing.
