Club Meetings
In addition to becoming a better speaker and communicator, Toastmasters will also help you become a better meeting facilitator. After all, effectively run meetings foster better communication.
In support of our goal to run effective meetings, each Wordsmiths Toastmasters meeting follows an agenda that looks something like this:

Welcome |
The presiding officer opens the meeting, welcomes guests, and turns the meeting over to the Toastmaster. The Toastmaster acts as the facilitator—or master of ceremonies—for the remainder of the meeting. |

Evaluation Team |
The evaluation team is introduced. The evaluation team is comprised of a General Evaluator, Speech Evaluators, Grammarian, Ah Counter, and Timer. The team’s job is to provide constructive feedback to all persons who have an opportunity to speak during the meeting. |

Speakers |
Every meeting features several prepared speeches. |
|
Table Topics |
Persons who do not have speaking roles at the meeting are given an opportunity to practice their impromptu speaking skills. |
|
Evaluations |
The evaluation team provides structured feedback to those persons who had any type of speaking role at the meeting. |
|
Awards |
Awards are given to best speakers in the Table Topics and Evaluator categories.
|
|
Business |
The Toastmaster closes the educational portion of the meeting, and returns control to the presiding officer, who leads a short club business meeting. |
|
Adjourn |
Meetings usually adjourn by 8:00 p.m. | |
