Woof Wash appointments book up quickly and many people book their dogs appointments in advance (usually at their last appointment). Please bear this in mind when thinking about booking an appointment. We do have cancellations, so we may have an appointment Dog Grooming For Canine (and the rest of your family) welfare reasons, all dogs, regardless of breed or coat type, should visit a groomer every 3 - 12 weeks (depending on breed) with home maintenance brushing at home between appointments. Pet dogs live in the same environment as us and are subjected to the same pollution and dirt. In the summer months their coats harbour pollen, grass seeds and mites. In the Winter they live in centrally heated houses which drys out their skin and coat. Just as people need regularly deep grooming, so do Dogs. Your allergies and minor medical problems can be stimulated by the dirt in your dogs coat, and so can your dog's. Dogs that have an undercoat need the dead hair removed to allow their coat to work properly to keep them warm AND to keep them cool. Many dogs suffer from small mats in the friction areas of their coat. These can be very painful for the dog as they pull on the skin. Where undercoat is not removed properly, major matting or felting can occur which needs to be removed immediately. As well as inflicting pain on the dog, they can be made to be very uncomfortable as air cannot flow in the coat. As with any coat that harbours dirt and debris this can lead to heat spots and skin conditions. There are so many benefits to you and your dog when you have it regularly groomed by a professional. You understand your commitment to your dogs welfare and you know that promoting good health requires more than a brush over, flea treatments and worming and an infrequent visit to the vet for a checkover and jab. For certain breeds we may ask you to come to visit us at our studio. At times you may simply prefer to visit us at our studio AND by coming to us, we can offer our grooming service at a reduced rate. Mobile Dog Grooming For your convenience Woof Wash can visit you at your home, place of work, dog club or event in our specialist mobile grooming studio. All we need is a suitable legal place to park up no more than 20 metres from the nearest plug socket that you have permission to use. We then plug our RCD hook-up cable into your plug socket. Our mobile studio van, has an onboard purpose made hydro massage bath that pushes water and canine PH balanced shampoos and conditioners through your dogs coat, massaging and stimulating the skin. The hydro massage bath is also environmentally friendly as it uses a fraction of the water you would use to do the same job in a domestic shower. The water is heated to ensure that the shampoos are allowed to work effectively and to provide warm comfort to your dog. The used water is discharged beneath the van so please bear this in mind when choosing a spot for us to park up. Woof Wash Dog groomers invest in quality professional canine grooming tools and processes to achieve the right result. Prices are calculated by breed, size, coat type and condition. Typical prices can be given over the phone or via email. During your appointment consultation the price will be worked out on breed, size, general condition, matting, particular requirements and the final price dependent on co-operative behaviour from your dog. All dogs should receive regular maintenance grooms at home and visit a professional
groomer every 3 -12 weeks depending on dog breed and coat type. A
mis-conception is that short haired dogs do not need professional grooming, however
dogs such as labradors benefit from a thorough deep cleanse of their skin and
removal of dead coat that often sheds leaving hair all over the
house. Dogs nails are best ground down by walking but should they grow too long they should be trimmed as over long nails
can present direct and referred pain. We have a unique relationship with you and your dog. We get to feel and see many parts beneath your dogs coat that you or your Vet may not routinely discover. You will be alerted to any lumps, bumps, abrasions or rashes that we find and where possible we will offer advice. Please remember that although we are canine professionals, we are not Vets and not medically trained, so please always seek advice from your Vet. |
