Woodlands Church is a group of people in the Swansea area who share a faith in God. We believe that the Christian church should be relevant to life today. We aim to follow the life Jesus challenged us to live.
We have a passion for God and a passion for people. We believe that God's power that raised Jesus from the dead around 2000 years ago still changes lives today. We want to see our local communities in Swansea transformed by the love and power of God. We're on a journey together to discover more about Jesus and support each other through life's ups and downs. We hope and pray that others will join us on our journey. We don't have all the answers but we do help each other with questions!
The church has a team of five leaders as well as a board of
trustees. All the leaders work full-time and lead the church in their
spare time. The work of the church is supported by our part-time administrator, Glyn Davies, our part-time Children & Young People's Coordinator, Alun John, and our Student Youth Worker, Steffan Probert. If you would like to know more about our history, click here.
In November 2011 we all drew our feet as a symbol that we are walking together, following Jesus. It was part of our 'Commitment Sunday' where we all say a prayer to commit ourselves to God and to one another. The video next to this text features the feet of those who were there and some of the names of those who walk with us but couldn't make it that day. Symbolically adding your feet to our path is a bit like becoming a church member only more interesting and without any unnecessary terms and conditions!

Apart from our own activities that help us to get to know each other more and discover more about God, we support a number of services for people in need, including:
We
run a parent and toddler group called 'Babes in the Wood' during
term-time. This runs on Thursdays from 1.00 - 2.45pm at Parklands Evangelical Church.
We promote good learning activities about the Christian faith in local secondary schools through GSUS Live and local primary schools LIFE through. We support a Bible Explorer club for children at Gors Community Primary School. We run occasional Alpha courses (see promo video to the right) - let us know if you're interested in joining. We are a Fairtrade Church and support Traidcraft products. Our church is featured on Swansea's InterFaith Green Map. We are an independent Christian church but have links all over Swansea and beyond. We have particularly close links with the following churches:
BAPTISM: We recently held a Baptism and if you click on the link below (or on the sub pages see below) this will take you to footage of Jordan Manley's BAPTISM |
