Thanksgiving Luncheon
Come and enjoy a delicious Thanksgiving Luncheon with your child and
participate in holiday activities in the classroom. Grades Pre-k, Kindergarten, 2nd and 5th will celebrate on Thursday, Nov. 19 and
grades 1st, 3rd and 4th will celebrate on Friday, Nov. 20. We still
need volunteers to help set up, take tickets, serve food and clean
up. If you can help, please contact Jay Schmitt.
It's getting colder. We need winter uniform donations!
Now that the weather is turning cooler, many children need
long-sleeved shirts and long pants. Please consider donating your
gently used uniforms -- especially long-sleeved shirts, long pants and
sweat shirts. Sizes 8, 10 and 14 are in particularly high
demand, but we can use all sizes. You can put your donated
uniforms in the bin next to the front office door. Please DO NOT put
them in the clothing collection box near the Spalding Drive
entrance.
The next Wildcat Closet sale of gently used uniforms
will be during the Thanksgiving luncheons, Nov. 19 and Nov. 20.
Math Tutors Wanted
Help a Woodland child learn his or her multiplication and division
facts. We are looking for volunteers to do weekly one-on-one tutoring
with a 4th or 5th grade student to help them improve their math facts.
Tutoring would happen on the same day each week during the child's
lunch period. This is a chance to make a difference in the life of a
child - mastering basic bath facts is a significant factor in a
child's overall academic success. If you are interested, please contact
Michelle Williams.

Thank you for a successful fundraiser!Due to the tremendous success of our Boosterthon Fun Run in February, 2009, the WECS PTA does not have to mount a major fundraiser this year!! That’s right! We don’t have to sell Sally Foster, or entertainment books, or anything else!! Thanks to everyone who supported the Fun Run with pledges. Enjoy your year off from fundraisers, but be ready to lend your support in the fall of 2010!!
And don’t forget – even though we are not having a major fundraiser, we still need to use our Publix cards and collect Box Tops!! Easy Money for our school! For more information, see our Fundraisers page.
Creative Minds Get those creative juices flowing! This year's Reflections theme is " Beauty is…". More information here. Is your child a creative thinker? Consider forming an Odyssey of the Mind team at Woodland. For more information, go to www.odysseyofthemind.com.
