Opening Concert for first FULL season 2009-10!

Rehearsals start September 1st at Christian Brothers High school in the same place as last season!

Rehearsal will start at 6:30 and last till about 8:45 or so.

We are Playing:

Mozart's Ballet Music

Mendelssohn Violin Concerto (first movement) with Aubrey Mills, violin

and

Beethoven's First Symphony in C Major!

VENUE DECIDED ON

Our May concert will be at CBHS in the auditorium!

We will have a rehearsal on Friday May 15th, 2009

on site in the auditorium for sound purposes!

TO give directions to family and friends for the concert

see below:

The school campus is located at

5900 Walnut Grove rd.

There best bet is to enter at the light and go towards the big bell tower (usually lit up at night with purple and gold)

The can park anywhere outside there, proceed to go up into where the bell tower is located to find a courtyard, keep left

and notice the signs that say "office" go into the lobby and the auditorium is located inside through the lobby!

PLEASE INVITE AS MANY PEOPLE AS YOU CAN, ITS LOOKING TO BE A GREAT PERFORMANCE OF THESE

DIFFICULT BUT NONETHELESS DAZZLING WORKS

Depictions of Nature.....

Our next concert will be May 16th at 8:00 p.m., under the theme Depictions of Nature.....

We will be performing Sibelius' Finlandia, Dvorak's Serenade for winds and low strings, and Beethoven's Sixth Symphony

Rehearsals will be scheduled every tuesday (same time and place) unless other wise noted

ATTENTION:

April 7th & 21st there will not be rehearsals held. Due to

William Langley playing/Conducting in Carnegie Hall (7th) & The CBHS's production of "Into the Woods" (21st)

Idea of Rehearsal Schedules:

Finlandia will always be first

Dvorak Serenade (mostly) last

Beethoven- depends on the decision of the conductor

May 2nd Concert

Rehearsal for the May 2nd concert begin on March 17th (same time and location as before)

We are planning to perform the following:

Beethoven's Sixth Symphony

Finlandia-Sibelius

Our Concert will be on May 2nd @ 8:00 p.m.

(First Congregational, 1000 S. Cooper st.)

NO REHEARSAL Jan. 20th, 2009

Rehearsal for January 20th is cancelled. We will resume rehearsals on Jan 27th, 2009.

In this time please zone in on the Weber Clarinet Concerto No.1

Keep in mind this will be our last rehearsal before our first rehearsal with our soloist!
