Environmentally Friendly Gardening for the Future

We can make an important contribution to a healthier sustainable environment by the way we garden.

The 5 main project aims are to:

  1. Reduce water use in the garden;
  2. Cut down on use of pesticides and inorganic fertilisers;
  3. Use alternatives to peat;
  4. Compost garden and kitchen waste;
  5. Attract wildlife and create habitats.

To understand fully the aims of the project and pick up tips on how to achieve them, please see our tips page.

The Gardening for Life aims, tips and sources of information are summarised here.

Woking Local Action 21 is a member of The Forum for Gardening with Wildlife in Mind and has signed their Manifesto Let our gardens live! A manifesto for gardens, people and nature, see here.
