My name is Włodzimierz Holsztyński. I am at the late stage of my life. Only my father is older than me within my close family. I spend with him a significant portion of each of my days (including weekends and holidays). My greatest life achievements are my four children, all four married. Can I take any credit for my grandchildren too? As of now (y. 2009) I have six of them, so sweet. Perhaps that's it, six. Any time I want to choose one of my grandchildren, all I have to do is to throw one of dice.

Professionally, I have spent the first half of my career on mathematics (doing research, and teaching at universities), and the second half on computer technology and its applications. While I was never a strong mathematician, I was nevertheless born for mathematics. I have devoted altogether quite a bit of time (certainly too much) also to poetry and chess. As nice as they are, if I lived again I would stay away from them. Instead, I'd do more of outdoor activities and more mathematics.

I see the world as chaos. It is a bit hard to accept, to remember all the time. We live for happy flukes. It's easy to get hopes or even an illusion that a nice fluke will last. We should strive at happy flukes anyway. That's why I have concerned myself with The Art of Agreeing. Also with thinking about education. I don't have the crazy energy to promote my ideas efficiently (it's hopeless anyway since the world is nothing but chaos), but at least let me try to state my views on this site.
