The Nanomedicine Laboratory was founded in 2006 by Dr. Willem J. M. Mulder as part of the Translational and Molecular Imaging Institute directed by Dr. Zahi A. Fayad.
The purpose of our research is to establish nanomedicine based approaches for medical imaging and therapeutics. To this aim we have developed a range of lipid-based nanoparticles. The main focus is on nanochemistry and novel nanoparticles as well as their application in experimental models of cardiovascular disease and cancer.
