Situated in Witnesham just outside Ipswich on the B1077

WE WILL BE REOPENING ON SATURDAY 4TH JULY FROM MIDDAY

Your local for the last 250 years...

The actual age of the building we know as the Barley Mow is not certain but it was probably built during the 1500s. What we do know is that during the 18th century it became a pub and was named the Barley Mow.

The nearest we can get to an actual date is 1761 when the landlord could have been a gentleman known as Daniel Stern. He bought the building in 1761 and when it was acquired by John Cobbold in 1766 it was already described as a public house.

In the meantime, why not drop in and see for yourself? You are sure of a warm welcome and may make new friends. Look out for details of events. The Barley Mow will be incorporating one of the new notice boards which will be erected in the village so it will also become an information centre... just another reason to drop by.
