Kristen is currently working with the Chicago Wilderness Science Team to examine the biodiversity and social outcomes of different models of restoration planning involving a range of woodlands and savannas across the Chicago metropolitan area. The project is highly interdisciplinary, involving ecological analysis of biological diversity, agent-based modeling of potential outcomes, scenario testing, and integrated quantitative and qualitative analysis of land-management planning processes. Chicago Wilderness is a biodiversity consortium of more than 240 organizations from the greater metropolitan Chicago area (www.chicagowilderness.org). She is collaborating with investigators from UIC, DePaul University, US Forest Service, and The Field Museum. |
