Our group is comprised of volunteer professionals in several disciplines and in different sectors of society (employers, clinicians, insurers and others). See the list of our names and organizations by clicking on the steering committee link to the left. We are a group of individuals dedicated to improving the health and wellbeing of the citizens of Wisconsin – and the vitality of our state’s economy – through prevention of needless work disability. We are participating in The 60 Summits Project, an initiative to spread fresh thinking in workers’ compensation and disability benefits systems across North America – in all 50 US states and 10 Canadian provinces. Our Vision....Our intention is to reach across traditional stakeholder boundaries and build a shared vision for how to support chronically ill, injured and aging workers to remain at or return to work safely and productively – and then to make concrete plans for turning that vision into a reality: a Wisconsin workforce that is healthy, productive, and on-the-job. • The framework for this vision is based on a report from ACOEM (the American College of Occupational & Environmental Medicine) entitled "Preventing Needless Work Disability by Helping People Stay Employed" that calls for more communication and better collaboration among the parties. •Our vision is to create a state wide consortium or coalition that plans to transform an action agenda into improved human and financial outcomes for both employees and employers. |
