Elections Information

This will be an election conference.

Voting:
Voting is open to all WI NOW members whose dues have been paid at least 30 days prior to the election.


The positions  up for election are:
President
Duties include: 
1.  Call and chair a state council meeting at least every three months.
2. Convene new chapters
3. Chair the state conference.
4. Maintain contact with each chapter and attempt to visit each chapter once per year.
5. Oversee the preparation of the state newsletter
6. Provide guidance and supervision needed in the operation of the WINOW office
.
7. Other duties as assigned.

Vice President Executive

1. Serve as President when the President is absent.

2.  Assist the President in maintaining personal contact with the Chapters.
3.  Other duties as assigned.
Vice President Action
1. Assist the Task Force Chairs.
2. Ensure that WINOW meets teh affirmative action requirements set forth by National Organization for Women policies.
3.  Other duties as assigned.


Secretary/Treasurer (positions were combined  prior to last conference)
1.  Ensure the financial reports and records are properly maintained.
2.  Oversee the preparation of a budget.
3.  Ensure compliance with reporting requirements of state and federal agencies.
4.  Coordinate fundraising proposals and make recommendations on fundraising projects.
5.  Accounting and bookkeeping tasks for the state
6.. Record the minutes of state council meetings and state conferences and provide copies for state council members.
7. Other duties as assigned.

Diversity Coordinator

1. Promote increased diversity of WI NOW
2. Create alliances with diverse groups
3. Help local chapters with diversity issues.
4. Other duties as assigned.

Membership Director
1.  Help organize new chapters and maintain contact with all chapters.
2.  Ensure that chapter leaders receive needed training.
3.  Oversee the maintenance of membership databases, if needed.
4.  Set up and maintain a system of communicating with members, including new and prospective members.
5.  Work with chapters on membership recruitment plans or events.
6.  Other duties as assigned by the organization.


Officers shall be elected for 2 year terms at regular state conference. 
All candidates for state office must belong to the National Organization for Women for no fewer than three moths prior to the State Conference and be a member of WI NOW.
