Our Garden Angel!

Susie Kleinfieldt, our friend, confidant, and fellow garden club member.  She died of leukemia on the morning of July 12^th, 2008, the second day of our garden tour last year.  She never ever ever….ever let the cancer take the front seat.  In fact, you would never have known anything was different.  Meeting Susie was like meeting a life-long friend.  Her captivating spirit was like a magnet to everyone around her.  She was the one who had people laughing, and always made you feel at home.  Her gardening adventures were always entertaining. She was the center of attention and loved every minute of it.  Who knew she was sick?  You were always welcomed into her gardens and into her home with open arms, a bottle of wine and a “Hi Kids!”  She had a satiating and likable smile.  Her love for gardening constantly reminded us of why we too loved it so much.  She was the kind of gardener that was never afraid to give advice, yet, was open to hearing yours.  Her gardening style showed up everywhere, it was in the bright colors she wore, and the styles she chose, they were always classy.  Her warm, gentle, and soft voice still rings loud and clear in our hearts and minds.  We hear you Susie and we’re doing fine, we’ll take care of everything for you, don’t you worry!  We miss you.
