Skaven Vs Undead (Kris)
Me : Seer on bell, Warlord, BSB, 3 engineers, plague priest, 26 clanrats, 23 stormvermin, 30 slaves, 35 slaves, 40 giant rats, 26 Plague monks, 6 gutter runners, Abomb, Cannon
Kris: 2 Vamp lord, 2 hero vamp, wight BSB (regen), 2 X 26 ghouls, 28 grave guard, 2 X 20 skeletons, 2 X dire wolfs
Practise game for War out west. This army is total point denial, you just can't kill it all. Kris had to change from High Elves to undead due to not finishing the elves on time.
Highlights: Played the first 2 turns of the game twice due to killing almost all the ghouls turn one first game, in the second killing 22 of the 26 ghouls with Doom Rocket!
Grey seer being attack and left on 1 wound then using skarm and then going back down to 1 wound before I was rescued by the Abomb
trying to kill the grave guard, I have my Plague monks and Abomb in them from turn 3 and it took me almost the whole game to get rid of them - Regen is painful!
Learnt: I left my seer in to much of a risk going down to 1 wound twice is not on I must protect him better! the unit just can not fight ranked up units.
how to handle the regen bus? Abomb on his own in future in the front kill the BSB!!!!!!!!!!! just make sure that my bsb is close for rerolling failed stubbon checks.
I'm splitting the giant rats back into 2 units they just work better at that sort of size the 40 strong is just to big. |

Skaven Vs High Elves (Kris)
Me : Seer on bell, Warlord, BSB, 3 engineers, plague priest, 26 clanrats, 23 stormvermin, 30 slaves, 25 slaves, 40 giant rats, 26 Plague monks, 6 gutter runners, Abomb, Cannon
Richard: lord on star dragon, Lv1 Wiz (metal) Lv2 Wiz (high) BSB, Hero, 2 X16 bow, 20 spear, 10 sword masters, 2 lion chariots, 5 Reavers
Practise game for War out west.
Highlights: skitterleaping my engineer over to the dragon with the brass orb, throwing it getting a hit and rolling a 1 for the dragon test and then a 6 for the lord.
Almost losing against the dragon, (he would have won if he had started to kill my charaters.)
Abomb went down too quick to the chariots.
Death Frenzying up my slaves into killing machines
Learnt: I have to remember to Dispell remain in play spells, I forgot and it killed my giant rat unit down to 12 men.
Protect the Abomb against lots of high Strength attacks he will go down [too] quickly!
Remember that even simple bowmen elves hurt with the reroll to hit. |

Skaven Vs Empire (Richard)
Me : Seer on bell, Warlord, BSB, 3 engineers, plague priest, 26 clanrats, 23 stormvermin, 30 slaves, 35 slaves, 40 giant rats, 26 Plague monks, 6 gutter runners, Abomb, Cannon
Richard: Lv4, Pope on pope-cart, BSB, Priest, 25 swordsmen X2 with skirmish bows (10), 10 Crossbows X2, 5 innercircle knights (Full commd - flaming banner), Cannon, morter, Stank.
Practise game for War out west. This army is one of the worst match ups for my army so I had to deploy and attack aggressively. Richard and I play a lot and we are very evenly matched.
Highlights: His turn one shooting his cannon at mine and then rolling a one to hit and in return me misfiring and being taken off the turn after by 1 pistoleer, and then the slave unit next to it with the plague priest in panicking! around 300 points down because one man
Doom rocket taking a unit of 25 swordsmen down to 6. (richard felt it was game over at that point - but I know how the skaven can implode (see above).
Stank charging into Plague monks (with BSB) him doing 11 wounds, then in return my banner of the under empire taking 2 wounds off and the BSB doing 2 more. needing 6's to wound and 1+ saves.
Learnt: I think I played well in the grand picture.
I had set the slaves up wrong on the left hand flank to either side of the cannon - it meant that his fast cav with the vanguard move and then first turn could just walk behind my line...... I need to close up the canon a bit make him work for it.
I got lucky to get the stank in the end it does not die with T10 even the Abomb needed 6's to hurt it. I need to see were it goes and have some form of attack against it.
The bell is rubbish - I know this but I just want to play with it - IT WILL BE A MISTAKE. Once the bell was pit of shaded out I should of pulled back the unit the seer was in and not put him in any danger.
I enjoyed the bigger units but stone throwers etc will hurt me I might even put storm banner up turn one if a lot of template shooting is around. |
