The Wilshire Park Preservation Plan is a carefully crafted and customized set of guidelines for the management of rehabilitation projects in the Wilshire Park HPOZ. Based on the 10 basic principles of the Secretary of the Interior Standards (The Secretary of the Interior Preservation Guidelines for Rehabilitation), it goes the extra step of addressing the specific features of Wilshire Park that are part of the fabric of our historic district.

The preservation plan is used in several ways:
  • To guide the decisions of the HPOZ Board, which was seated in November of 2011
  • To guide residents toward the nationally accepted standards of preservation when planning a project
  • To guide planners to whom conforming work is delegated
Our preservation plan is the product of the input of Planning and the Cultural Heritage Commission as well as the that of a local task force of residents. It is designed to be easily understood by residents, and yet specific enough to be used by professional planners and developers. It is a in a standard format recently developed and adopted by 17 HPOZs which had been operating without a preservation plan.

If you are contemplating a project for your property, this is your road map.
