Wilshire Park is Turning 100

posted Sep 7, 2011 11:20 AM by Roberta O'Donnell   [ updated Sep 10, 2011 4:56 PM ]

As many of you know, Wilshire Park, or as it was then known "Boulevard Heights" was established in 1905 by McGarvin and Bronson as a new residential tract. The first house was built in 1907 on Norton, soon followed by many others.

Wilshire Park Association would like to help celebrate the 100th anniversaries of the two dozen homes that have reached this landmark or will reach it within the next 15 months.

Keep your eye out for our new Centennial signs around the neighborhood, marking our earliest homes.

Here is a list, in chronological order, of historically intact homes that have reached 100. If one of these homes is yours, watch your mail for an invitation to display a Centennial Sign. If your house was
built elsewhere 100 years ago or more and moved to Wilshire Park later on, don't worry! We are researching those homes too.

For more information, or if you have a question about researching your home's history, please contact Robby O'Donnell at mailto:robbyo@pacbell.net or Stephen Rebello at mailto:stephen.rebello09@gmail.com.
