For Valentines I had fun experimenting with how to make flowers abstract in the middle of the winter. The experiment included freezing flowers in vases on my back porch, breaking off the vase, and sculpting the ice using hot water or a hammer.
Both real and silk flowers were used.  With silk flowers the ice made the fabric weave more visible so I sometimes added extra light to give them a pastel/watercolor look.
