Local artist (Huntington VT) experimenting with Digital Art and Photography.
Although I majored in math, I was always interested in making art my minor (they are on the same side of the brain). The luxury of attending a college near New York City gave me an opportunity to further explore art & introduced me to the world of abstractions. That being said, I have never lost the deep Vermont Country roots and as a result my art is often a blend of country and abstract. Having my son had me temporarily put down my pastels and paint brushes for awhile but 2008 had me yearning to get back. With limited time on my hands I decided to explore using Photography and Digital art as my paint brush. My love of the country and an attempt to make most of my photos look like paintings has me in a
pair of muck boots exploring ways of using Vermont's natural resources
(rivers, sun, ice, water reflections) & objects (mirrors, beads,
shells) to naturally add texture and abstraction.
My experiments include but are not limited to: • Throwing flowers (real or silk) into a stream and photographing them float to the bottom. The water creates beautiful ripples and
distortions.
• Submerging objects on a mirror into a stream all while trying to reflect the sun, blue sky, & clouds in an attempt to
add more colors & distortion. • Finding patterns in winter river ice to put objects such as flowers underneath. The flowers almost look like a
Monet painting.
The number of art prints and exposure grew
exponentially, which necessitated the need for an On-Line gallery.to me
when creating the gallery that I do it in such a way to not only display my art
work, but to open it up to encourage, support, mentor, & expose young
upcoming artist. Just think what they could do if they make the right
connections early enough in their life.
Mission
Encourage young developing artist to come out and explore the art world with
me all while using it to help folks believe and feel good about whom they are.
