The Willis Treat team is back to its normal laughter-packed monthly timetable on Wednesday 25 November at 8pm. During October, every Wednesday evening we'll be recording episodes of Stand-Up and Be Counted - a new comedy series for Radio New Zealand, National Radio. Click on the sidebar for more information! Meanwhile, who is Willis Treat? Willis is a multiple personality, constantly changing but always good for a laugh. The good thing is you never know which personality's going to dominate, so there's always a surprise in store. Medical hypnosis has revealed some core personalities inside Willis, including the Godmother of Wellington comedy Lorraine Ward, the oldest newcomer to the business Mike Bodnar, the perenially young but much experienced Fergus Aitken (aka Mr Fungus), mighty dynamo Fifi Colston (pictured above), racist against vegans (and Rookie of the Year 2009) Sarah Harpur, Benjamin "special forces" Crellin, and many others. It's a moveable feast, which is very appropriate considering it's in a cafe. Buh-dum. Thangyew. Willis Treat tends to favour just the one location, and can be seen approximately monthly but always on a Wednesday night at Katipo Cafe upstairs at 76 Willis Street (no relation) in central Wellington. For the geographically challenged, the entrance is almost next to the Metro New World Supermarket (who really should be paying us for product placement on this site...) Katipo is run by Dave. He loves Willis Treat because it brightens up a Wednesday evening and, as he's fond of music, he likes nothing more than the merry sound of the till ringing. It has him smiling almost as much as the comedy. (Actually more) Check out the next Willis Treat gig. Willis looks forward to seeing you at our next hilarious evening. If you'd like to receive advance notice of future Willis Treat gigs and other associated laughable events please send an email with your name to mgbodnar@gmail.com - Thanks! |
