Welcome to the Wiley Lab
We are in the Joint Science Department of Claremont McKenna, Pitzer, and Scripps Colleges. We research the molecular pathways underlying dynamic packaging of DNA into different chromatin structures. Undergraduate students perform the majority of research using the ciliated protozoan Tetrahymena thermophila as an experimental model system. See Our Research for a more complete description of the research program, and Lab Members to see who has been involved and where they are now.
The Wiley Lab is part of the Ciliate Genomics Consortium, a national collaboration of laboratories that involve undergraduates in original research contributing to functional annotation of the Tetrahymena genome. This initiative was developed by Dr. Wiley with funding through a CAREER Award from the National Science Foundation.
