Rating up? Read up here!

Ratings are a great opportunity to demonstrate your knowledge and riding progress.  The process may seem daunting, but keep in mind your testing is when you show that you have reached this level and are ready to begin working on the next.  So what you you do now?
  1. Let the DC or test coordinator know at least four weeks in advance of the next scheduled testing that you would like to rate up.
  2. Read the Standards of Proficiency & the Test Sheet
  3. Submit a completed flowchart to the DC or test coordinator at least two weeks before the testing.
    • Your regular mounted instructor should initial the riding sections
    • You & a parent should initial each of the knowledge sections
  4. During the last week before the testing, clean & oil your tack, brush your horse from ears to tail each day, and review the test sheet.
  5. The night before - pack your trailer, pack some snacks & water, and get a good night's sleep.
