What We Offer

Local and National Benefits of Membership

What We Promise Locally

Chapter Meetings

Rediscover your self at our chapter meetings, featuring lively discussion about topics that appeal to sequencing women.  Relationships, balancing work and family, parenting, raising awareness on issues facing today's Moms -- you'll find these topics and more.  Connect.  Recharge.  Thrive!

Daytime and Evening Events

Wichita Mothers & More events give Mom space to be herself, along with activities that let Mom be a kid with her kids.  Access options that fit your schedule, reflect your interests, and meet your changing needs.  Members have direct input into scheduling and idea generation.  If you want to suggest something new, let us know what you have in mind!

Personal Connections

Make friends with like-minded area women.  Relate.  Share tips and local resources.  Find encouragement as you pursue new goals.  Laugh.  Save your sanity.  Create a network for advice and support, from professional to personal to parenting to school / education to household.

Care

Our Care team helps Mom out with meals and other types of support when a new baby arrives or during periods of unexpected crisis.  This "network of neighborhood women" is particularly helpful for families who have relocated or who are juggling multiple schedules.

Online Discussion Loop

WMM's chapter loop is our main means of communication for chapter events and news, but it also offers a valuable way to find advice from fellow members on everything from plumbers to pediatricians, how to get around town, and dealing with day-to-day life as Mom.

Newsletter

Keep up with chapter events and happenings with our newsletter.  It introduces newcomers, offers stories from our lives as Moms, helps you get to know existing members, updates you on National Mothers & More news, and more.  It's also an opportunity for writers (aspiring or otherwise) to develop and hone their talents.

Volunteer Opportunities

WMM functions entirely in thanks to our member volunteers.  Members are encouraged to volunteer in some aspect of WMM -- choose something that fits your interests, talents, and availability.  Without question, volunteering is the best way to get to know WMM and other members.  Many members volunteer as a way to keep business world skills sharp or to tap into the skills, backgrounds, and experiences of other women.

What We Promise Nationally

The FORUM

A quarterly member magazine focusing on work and family issues, survival techniques for life at home and in the workplace, ideas for personal enrichment, book reviews, author interviews, and other topics of interest to sequencing women.

Online Member Resources

The national website offers a members-only area full of information and resources for support and education, including Mothers & More news and discussions with guest speakers.  Get to know the nationwide Mothers & More community by participating in any of 30+ online loops (see list at right) -- networks of members across the country who turn to each other for answers, support, and laughter on select topics.

Advocacy

Raise your awareness about economic, social, and political issues that directly influence mothers in the paid workplace and in their roles as caregivers.  Participate in online discussions with Moms across the country and learn about efforts that:

  • Promote the value of all work Mothers do
  • Seek to change polices and attitudes that unfairly impact Mothers as caregivers

Resume Builders: Non-Profit Work Experience

Mothers & More operates almost entirely with help from a virtual network of national volunteer staff.  Women build relationships, engage their creative brains, and learn or sharpen skills for their resumes as leaders or team members on projects that offer experience in the non-profit business sector.

Chapter Management Resources

National and chapter volunteers access a virtual workplace, enabling them to ask questions, discuss ideas, and share best practices across the country.
