Mothers & More in the News Chicago Tribune Says to Mothers & More: You Go, Girls! (October 21, 2007) - Chicago Tribune Staff Reporter Heidi Stevens called Mothers & More a white flag among the typical mainstream "Mommy Wars" coverage that pits at-home mothers against mothers in the workplace. Dismissing the Mommy Wars hype as "untrue" and a "false conceit," Stevens observed, "I have to believe most moms identify more with another, less-ballyhooed faction. I call them the You Go, Girls. As in, 'You stay home full time? You go, girl!' 'You work full time? You go, girl!' 'You work in an office three days a week, freelance at night after the kids go to bed, make it to every Little League practice and often still find time to cook dinner? You really go, girl!' Being a mom is hard work, no matter how you slice it. Most of us know that. So where are all the You Go, Girls hanging out?" The answer: Mothers & More!Washington, D.C. ABC News reports, "The Family and Medical Leave Act entitles many workers up to 12 weeks of unpaid leave with job protection. That has been a great service to some 60 million workers who've taken advantage of the law in their times of need. But a Department of Labor report in 2000 also found that some of the workers who needed the leave said they were unable to take it for financial reasons."
