Our Members

Making Motherhood Count

Who's a Typical Member?

Mothers & More members are committed equally to our identities as women and to our roles as mothers.  Being a parent is one of many roles we play.  We value being able to nurture interests, goals, dreams, and knowledge in order to grow as people and as parents.

Motherhood brings many changes and transitions as our children grow.  All mothers make choices  that involve rearranging and refocusing our worlds in tune with evolving needs of life, career and family.  We  see that there's more to it than making that often complicated "stay-at-home" or "return-to-work" decision, because balancing the work we do now with our roles as caregivers can change course at the drop of a hat.

We build friendships with women who understand where we're coming from, receive support for our choices, raise awareness and get real about the work and challenges Motherhood entails, and learn from each other's experiences as mothers -- both at home and on-the-job.

Most of all, we have a great time getting together as women and with our kids for laughter, learning and making a difference -- to our families, to our communities, to fellow moms, and to our own well being.  Read what WMM Members say about their experiences.

What is Sequencing?

Sequencing refers to what many mothers are doing every day: moving between career and caregiving work based on their own needs and those of their families.

It may involve paid work (full- or part-time), starting your own business, volunteering, being a full-time caregiver at home, re-enrolling in school for advanced education, or many of those in combination.

As a term, it recognizes that our roles as women and as mothers are moving targets. Our lives and our families' caregiving needs change over time, which means mothers are on a constant quest to flex their lives with their work. It also recognizes that what we do as parents is only one part of our whole selves.

Sequencing means that our individual choices as Mothers, regardless of what those are, can benefit from the non-judgmental support of fellow Moms.
