First United Methodist Church
Pottstown, PA

Accomplishments: formation and leadership of Vision, Mission and Action Team for strategic planning for church, wrote and guided the Team=s report through congregational acceptance, instituted a new modern (contemporary) worship service, led in revitalizing weekday and Sunday educational ministries of the church, spearheaded adoption and implementation of a Capital Funds Campaign to raise $165,000 for church facilities and new ministries, hired and provided oversight for new staff for church programs, oversight of capital improvements - new parking lot and interior renovations

General Responsibilities:  preaching, visitation of sick and homebound, administration of general church program, oversight of education programs , leading worship, administration of the sacraments, counseling, teaching adult Sunday School classes and  two weekly Bible studies, leading Disciple classes
 

July 97 - June 01:  Minister

Elysburg United Methodist Church
Elysburg, PA

Accomplishments: formation and implementation of a lay shepherding program, development of a weekly afterschool program for children ages 4 through 13 (Adventure Club and Children=s Choir), organizational restructuring and streamlining, development of core values, mission and vision statements, bringing resolution to immediate past conflict in the church, including the implementation of a Theologian-in-Residence program, strategic planning and conflict management training, served as one of nine pastors on the staff of Methodists United (A cooperative ministry of Shamokin-area United Methodist Churches)
