Just to make this official, the club will not be operating for the next few weeks, due to a lack of interest, and the hall being used for other things.
If people are wanting to play again prior to the season starting, we can however restart the club if there is enough interest to do so.

As of last nights AGM, I have been nominated (and accepted) to be the Chairman of Whitley Bay Badminton Club for the coming season.
I am looking forward to working within this role; and hopefully to instigate/implement some changes that will benefit the club and those who attend.
Unfortunately - the first thing I have to do is confirm that the summer club shall not be running through June due to decreased numbers.
We will work towards maybe starting this back up closer to the start of the season in order to get a head start, however this is yet to be confirmed.

The Annual General Meeting of Whitley Bay Badminton Club will be at 7.00 pm on Monday 13th June 2011 in the Hunting Lodge pub on Seatonville Road, Whitley Bay. They have agreed to let us have the upstairs room free of charge, but are hoping we will buy a few drinks to make it worth their while. I expect many of us will have no problem with that. |

John Spence require their hall for other acivities for the following nights: 3rd June 10th June However, due to reduced interest this season; there is a possibility of closing down the club; however this is not confirmed.

Ladies : Remain in A Division - Some really tough games, worked hard for that one!
Mixed:
- Thirds - Runner up in E divison behind Jesmond Dene, Promotion hopefuls next season?!
- Seconds - Mid table finish; tough league in D Division!
- Firsts - Mid table finish in C division, some hard fought games there too!
Mens:
- Thirds - Table topping Division F - 9 wins, 1 loss, lots of big wins! Great effort.
- Seconds - top of C league! - 8 wins, 0 losses. Unbeaten!
- Firsts: Bottom of B division, could have gone either way in the last few games!
Overall - a pretty good season! - seen a massive improvement in some of our younger players, we have had the help of some new members, and the experience of the older ones!
Special mention to the Team Captains who have certainly played their part in gettin teams out and motivated, and to Zoe Potts who had put a lot of effort into scheduling matches for the club, especially given the harsh winter and re-scheduled matches!
Lets hope we can push on for next season!
