Juniors: North Tyneside Badminton Academy
The junior section of Whitley Bay Badminton Club (WBBC) is the North Tyneside Badminton Academy (NTBA). Young people between the ages of 7 to 16 are eligible to join NTBA and sessions take place on Sunday mornings from 10.00 am till 12.00 noon in the Sports Hall at John Spence Community High School, Preston Road, North Shields. Sessions are run by Badminton England Level 2 and Level 1 coaches, most of whom are members of WBBC. More skilled players from the academy are able to access additional coaching sessions, and eventually may be integrated into WBBC. Currently WBBC has 8 members, who came to the club from NTBA, and all 8 are playing in adult league teams this season.
