Philosophy

Response includes both agreements and disagreements with the material. Shows penetrating insight.

Response includes agreements or disagreements only. Offers ordinary insight or supported opinion.

Response includes one agreement or disagreement, but offers no insight.

Response addresses neither agreement nor disagreement with material. No insight is included.

Accuracy

Conclusions and/or opinions are logical. Complete and satisfactory entry.

Format

College-level writing is used. Proper grammar and spelling displayed. The journal entry is complete and error-free. Entry is within the prescribed word count (50-100 words).

Some deviation from college-level writing; entry is over or under word count (50 to 100).

More than 3 grammar or spelling errors. Entry is less than 50 words.

Little or no resemblance to college-level writing
