If you have a small amount of land, you can raise poultry.  A few chickens can supply a household with wonderful eggs.  Take it a step further, and you can raise poultry for your table.  But the onerous part of raising poultry for meat is processing the birds.  Commercial processing equipment can make it easier, but is very costly.  The next best solution is to participate in an equipment lending program- and Whatcom County has one- the Whatcom Pastured Poultry Group!
