Positions available

We have two types of positions for volunteers: basic first-response assistants and certified EMTs. There are no requirements to an assistant, but you must a certified EMT in order to be a certified EMT. If you do not have NC EMT certification, we will work with the NC OEMS to get you reciprocity. If they haven’t already, potential volunteers who have not had any first response training should onsider taking the HES 232 course, a class designed to prepare students for an EMT-Basic certification exam and introduce them to first-response emergency care.
