Westview Elementary would like to thank Steve and Emily Dykstra of Bursting Blooms Landscape & Design for the beautiful landscaping that was added to our school. Two areas were created, a benched seating area in the car rider line circle out front and another area in the back. Both of these were dedicated in loving memory of our former school nurse, Martha Waller, who passed away last year after a battle with cancer. Please remember her as you enjoy the beauty of our new landscape. |

Westview's second annual Literacy Night was a huge success! Over 500 parents, teachers, and students came together to celebrate reading. We all enjoyed meeting author and illustrator, Anna Dewdney, who wrote the Llama Llama books. She was very generous with her time and did a great job reading and drawing for the kids.
We learned some great tips from the variety of literacy workshops. We want to thank Daylight Donuts delicious donuts, and READ 20 for the great story. We also want to thank Mac Authority and Barnes & Noble for their workshops, along with all the other teachers who presented. As always, we greatly appreciate the volunteers and teachers who dedicated their time to make the evening possible. We look forward to enjoying Literacy Night next year! |
