Transmitter Neck Strap Clips (8/23/09)

Today we had a second instance where a Spektrum TX took a bath due to the owner using a Neck Strap with an unreliable Clip.

 At left is shown a skipper using a Tx Neck Strap with one of the unreliable clips. The TX attachment ring can get caught under the inside end of the clip and, if twisted, can be forced open and release the Tx to its doom!







This image shows a Neck Strap with a much more reliable clip in which the clip opening is spring loaded but leaves no end  protruding for the Tx attachment ring to get caught on.






We strongly recommend all skippers use one of the second type. Most RC stores such as Tower Hobbies, Horizon Hobby etc carry them at various prices. It is the clip type that counts not the price!
