Dog Birthday Cake

This recipe is quick and easy to make - only 10 minutes preparation time!
Food should be finely grated or minced and mixed in a food processor or blender.
Additional utensils required are:

A mixing bowl
Mixing spoon
Measuring spoon and measuring cup
Cake tin - any shape or size to suit recipe

Ingredients

360 grams (12ozs) chopped or minced turkey
4 eggs
1 cup (250ml) flour
Half teaspoon of baking powder
Half cup (125ml) oatmeal
Half cup (125ml) corn oil (sunflower or olive oil can be used instead)
Finely chopped parsley (optional)
Half cup (125ml) grated carrot
Garlic clove

Method
Pre heat oven to 350 degrees (175 degrees C).
Grease and flour the cake tin.
Finely chop or mince the turkey.
Puree the turkey in a blender or food processor, with the eggs and corn oil.
Grate the carrot.
Finely chop the parsley (optional).
Add the vegetables to the meat mixture and blend together until completely mixed.
Stir flour and baking powder together in a large mixing bowl and stir in oatmeal.
Make a well in the centre of the flour and gradually stir in the blended mixture.
Pour mixture into the greased cake tin.
Bake for about 50-60 minutes.
Remove the cake from the oven.
Let the cake cool for 30 minutes.
Remove the cake from the tin.

If you wish you can “ice” the cake using either yogurt or cream cheese and decorate with a selection of chopped vegetables.
(You have probably guessed that this is an American recipe).
Although turkey is used for this recipe you can use other meat (I have used minced beef and it worked well).

Put all the ingredients ( EXCEPT the air freshener ) into a blender adding the water until the mixture is smooth,
Pour into greased 12-inch square baking tins and place in a pre-heated oven [Gas Mark 4, 350oF or 180oC] for around 30-40 minutes.

Can be frozen into individual bags [enough for a couple of weeks of training]

Be sure to use the air freshener at regular intervals!
But not near food !!!!

Thanks to our good friends at ACE Agility (Suffolk) for this recipe.

½ cup cooked brown rice
½ cup boiled mixed vegetables

Crunchy Liver  (Easy Peasy)

Liver
Garlic [ NOT Garlic salt ]

Method
1. Buy the cheapest liver.
2. Rinse the liver in clean running water.
3. Cook the liver in the microwave for a short time so that it is easy to cut into very small pieces.
4. Sprinkle with garlic and cook at a high temperature in an oven proof, covered glass dish.
5. Turn the Liver regularly until it is crunchy, but not burnt.
[ It is important to ensure that it's not soft in the centre ]
6. Cook until dry and crunchy so that you can put it into your pocket loose.

Thanks to Ann Manby for this recipe.
