(The Small Print)
For Your Dog’s Safety.
Please DO NOT feed your dog for at least 3 hours before coming to training and an hour after, as strenuous exercise on a full stomach can cause gastric torsion which can be fatal. During training dogs MUST NOT wear choke chains, slip leads, halter type collars or harnesses.
Only fixed collars and clip on leads are suitable (no flexi-leads).
We do not have water available at the venue so do bring a drink for your dog (and yourself if required) Dogs ARE NOT allowed on the equipment without the supervision of the trainer. Otherwise you are not legally covered by the club’s insurance.
NO dogs must be in the arena while members are setting up/putting away the equipment. All dogs must remain on lead unless otherwise instructed.
Do not feed other peoples dogs as this can cause friction between the dogs.
While waiting for your turn please respect your neighbouring dog’s space, as dogs on the lead can become protective of their owners. West Suffolk Agility Club Rules
Each dog owner must provide sight of a current vaccination certificate (to include Kennel cough) for Club Records, every year.
Each dog owner is responsible for clearing up and taking home their dog’s poo from INSIDE and OUTSIDE of the venue. Failure to do so could result in expulsion from the Club. Water/urine will not be absorbed by the floor surface in the venue therefore owners are responsible for clearing this up with tissue (supplied) and taken away by the owner. Owners MUST NOT put their dogs over any equipment unless under the direct supervision of an instructor. NO dogs shall be off lead unless under the direct supervision of an instructor. Bitches in season should be kept away from the club for at least 3 weeks. If you dog gets an infectious illness (eg. kennel cough) please keep it away until fully recovered and
PLEASE do the responsible thing and let the Club know (telephone/email us, details in the 'Contact Us' box) so that we can take any necessary action and inform other members. Please note that in the event of a serious outbreak it may be necessary to close the club for a couple of weeks to break the infection cycle. If you are going to be away for more than 3 weeks please let a trainer know, so that your place will be held open and not given to another person wanting to join the club. All contact equipment must be brushed down before storage. (Brooms are also stored in the shed)
All members are expected to help with setting up/putting away of equipment. So please turn up 15 minutes before classes begin.
Rules For The Arena
Ecotrack is a waxed surface. Any dirt will contaminate the waxing, therefore please ensure the following:
1. Your dog has been toileted before training. 2. All dog droppings are removed. 3. All litter is removed. 4. Your dog does not dig the surface. 5. NO equipment is to be staked down, as this will damage the sub-surface membrane. 6. NO vehicles in the arena. Bad Weather Contingency Plan In the event of inclement weather and you are in doubt about travelling on a Thursday evening, please ring one of the club members listed in the 'Contact Us' box AFTER 5.20 pm to check if the club is going to open.
Do remember that agility is all about having FUN.
It’s a great sport and a great way of bonding with your dog.
