Greetings Westport High School Alumni: Below is a message from Teresa L. Martin about the gathering for Westport Alumni for September 2011. I would like to request to all Westport Alumni to help me out with a task. I would like for anyone who knows of another Alumni that graduated from the class of the "1960's" to help encourage them to participate at the reunion in September. Hey, the 70's, 80's and the 90's, came out strong last year and I am so hoping that the 60's will do the same. So, if anyone has an idea's please help a sister out. We're going to do the Meet-n-Greet at Smuggler's Inn on the 16th. The cookout at Swope Park Bandstand on Saturday and church & dinner on Sunday. We haven't had any meetings lately due to the lack of people coming out. A few people have paid in and we will set up a meeting in July to get the ball rolling. Take care and God Bless!! The 2011 Reunion Weekend was held on Friday, September 16-Sunday September 18, 2011. Our next class meeting will be held on Saturday April 16, 2012, at 4:00 p.m. at Gates BBQ on 47th & Paseo. We will be collecting $20 per person to cover the cost for the shelter house, the cook, the DJ, and the meats for the cookout. Please bring your ideas/suggestions. Greetings Westport Alumni: On Saturday, March 26, 2011, there will be an "all class reunion meeting" for the Westport Alumni gathering for 2011, at Gates Bar-B-Que on Paso from 3:00 to 5:00 PM. Thanks, Mary Adair-Dean, Class of "1966" The Kansas City Missouri School Board voted to close Westport High School, as well as several other Kansas City public schools, due to budget cuts. Westport High School closed 3 June 2010. The 2010 Westport High School graduating class was the last with some 70 students.
All remaining underclassmen have been transferred to Southwest High School. Harold Hawkins was the last principal of Westport High School.
