· Westport Environment Team is a school student based organisation which focuses on the promotion of environmental education and the conservation of our schools surrounding rainforest. Some of our campaigns for 2010 are:
· Build fences to protect the schools rainforest. · Build our Rainforest Learning area. · Holding a Local Youth Environmental forum. · Designing and producing our new shirt. · Supporting the schools community water grant. · Researching the movement of native animals in our rainforest (mainly the quoll). · Raising money with market stalls etc. to spend on our various projects. · Entering environmental competitions. · Obtaining Environment Grant money to fund our projects. · Moving towards a sustainable school. · Producing an Environment Management Plan for the School. · Liaison with other active environmental groups. · Researching Koala density and movements · Linking with Macquarie University · Linking with Cascade Field Studies Centre · Linking with NSW Koala Society
