I'm very sorry to have to do this, but Mr. Finley is sick today.
This means that we are not able to have rehearsal today. I was really looking forward to getting back into the swing of things with a day of show choir, but it will have to wait a few days. I'm going to check the calendar and see if I can get a short vocal rehearsal in this week...maybe Friday after school.
Please spread the news and message me if you have any questions.

It's hard to believe, but Metro Fest is right around the corner! For those that are new, Metro Fest is an event held ea
This year Metro Fest is going to be held at North High School.
The students will leave from West on school busses that afternoon (around 12:30) for rehearsal with the students from the other schools and the guest clinicians. Everyone will remain at North until after the concert is finished. The concert begins at 7:30 PM.
Dinner will be served to the students while we are at North from Grinders. The cost is $5 which can be paid to Mrs. Dunnegan or Mr. Finley. The students can also opt to bring their own sack dinner if they choose.
After the concert students are released to go home with their parents. We will be bringing just one bus back to West for students whose parents will not be able to attend the concert and need a ride back to West. However, we do encourage everyone to attend this concert and take their students with them at the conclusion.
The admission for Metro Fest is $5 for adults and $3 for seniors and students. With the exception of state large group contest in May, this is the only concert where admission will be charged. |

The calendar sent home with the choral handbook had a few errors. The following corrections in bold need to be made.
Show Choir Dinner Theatre is on Sunday, January 22nd 2012
Spring Concert is on Tuesday, May 22, 2012
Also, the November Booster meeting is going to be on November 1st - not November 8th as listed in the handbook.
These corrections have been made in the versions posted in the Documents section. |

Audition music for next year's Chorale and Concert Choir is attached below. Auditions will begin Monday, please be prepared to sing your part a cappella.
We will be judging on the following categories: Intonation, Phrasing, Rhythm, Voice Quality, Diction, and Dynamics.

There will be a mandatory show choir parent meeting for the upcoming school year on Tuesday, May 24 at 6:00 PM. Many important items regarding next year's show choirs will be discussed that evening. |

AUDITION TIME CHANGE! - The singing portion will now take place on Tuesday, April 18 from 3-5PM. The Thursday audition will remain the same.
Attached is the music for the singing portion of show choir auditions which will be held on Tuesday, April 18 from 3-5PM for current 9-11 graders. The dancing audition will be held on Thursday, April 13 from 3-5PM. YOU MUST COMPLETE BOTH PARTS OF THE AUDITION AND HAVE A SIGNED PERMISSION SLIP IN ORDER TO BE CONSIDERED FOR EITHER SHOW CHOIR. If you have a conflict or a question about the audition, please contact Mrs. Dunnegan or Mr. Finley.

All Show Choir Students involved in the trip to Nebraska-
You MUST make sure to bring the following items to school tomorrow: 1)A SIGNED PERMISSION and MEDICAL form-you CANNOT get on the bus without it.
2)A GARMENT BAG - your costume CANNOT leave the school or get on the bus without it.
3)Your COSTUMES if you have already taken them home.
4)Your CHARACTER SHOES - we still have students who need to purchase some from us! Boys - $34 Girls - $24
5)Girls - Tights and Dance Briefs - Tights - $6.50 Dance Briefs - $9.50
6)Boys - WHITE UNDERSHIRTS and BLACK SOCKS!
7)Anything else you will be needing on FRIDAY, SATURDAY, and SUNDAY AFTERNOON. Please stick to the guidelines on the handout.
8)Yourselves!
9)Optimism!! We're going to have a great weekend!

Reminder to West Connection - Round 2 of choreography will be as following:
Friday, September 3 - 1PM-5PM
Saturday, September 4 - 9AM-? (with an hour for lunch: time TBD)
Sunday, September 5 - 1PM-? (No lunch break so eat prior to start time)
