Gala Day is an opportunity for local people and community groups to get together to highlight local activities, have some fun - and also raise some funds. Over £1200 was raised for local groups and charities at Gala Day 2010 - we hope to do even better this year.
One way you can help raise funds is to offer to go into the 'wet sponge' stocks - and raise funds for a range of groups and charities. We've got a few volunteers signed up already - including some well known faces - but there's always room for one or two more. We've always had a visit from Strathclyde Fire Service - but this year we've also got a proze winning vintage fire engine joining the parade.
Bring all that change that's lurking in pots and jars - there's plenty to spend it on, and it all goes towards local groups and future Gala Days.
