About Me & Services

Im a full time fitness professional, working as a lecturer in the Fitness department at a local TAFE college. I also offer an individualised strength & conditioning service to athletes and the general public from a small MMA/Strength & Conditioning training facility.

At present the majority of clients are MMA combatants, however im always looking to branch out and assist athletes from other sports or just people who have  a strong work ethic and goals they want to achieve, doesnt matter how big or small. Its essential that a strong work ethic and desire to achieve  is present  as i dont believe in short cuts, no matter where youre starting from fitness and/or lifestyle goals take sacrifice and hard work. If you dont have a strong desire to achieve then youre probably best of with the ditzy little blonde PT down at globo gym.

Of course i love to train with kettlebells, not exclusively though, as i also enjoy using other alternative equipment. I also dabble in a bit of MMA & BJJ & some oly lifting. I pretty much use myself as a crash test dummy. Kettlebells really only make up a part of the entire training chest, we also use
  • Sandbags
  • Bands
  • Boxing
  • Olympic lifting
  • Kegs
  • Plyometric drills
  • Sleds
  • Extreme bodyweight exercises
  • The Dominator
I have been using and instructing the use of kettlebells for over 4 years. The first time i saw a kettlebell in a  Blitz magazine article featuring the legendary Steve Cotter i knew i had found my training tool of choice.  Since purchasing my first kettlebell i have trained on a regular basis (sometimes too regular) always looking to improve on existing skill levels and to increase my understanding of the physiological effects of kettlebell training (sometimes cause i overtrained!)

Early in 2008 I was able to attend one of the first AKI accreditation courses in Melbourne. Upon succesful completion of the accreditation course I was honoured to be approached by Rick Ravensdale of  Australian Kettlebells and offered the gig of running their Western Australian kettlebell workshops. For me this was recognition of the hard work i had put into my kettlebell training and i have jumped at the opportunity

I have been fortunate enough to have been trained by Phil Kourbatski, Ben Minos & Rick Ravensdale of AKB, Don Stevenson of Octogen and Steve Cotter.

Most recently i was extremely fortunate to obtain a place at the IUKL level 1 & 2 instructors courses, presented by the legendary Girevoy Sport master, Vasily Ginko. Vasilys instruction and meeting Australias very own Girevoy Sport legend, Paul Tucker, has inspired me to dedicate future trainings to the art of Girevoy Sport.

My current qualifications include
  • Cert IV Personal Trainer
  • AKI accredited instructor
  • Level 2 IUKL instructor
  • Level 2 ASCA S & C coach
  • Level 1 Australian Weightlifting Federation Power Sports Coach
  • Cert IV TAA
