ideas, enjoy learning something new and challenging your own
assumptions, but strictly avoid partisan rhetoric and name calling?
Well, then, you're our kind of discussion buddy!
We are forming a group for monthly enjoyable serious discussion around ideas and current debates in a comfortable environment (home or quiet
restaurant). Sometimes we will use an article or a book to kick off the
conversation. Sometimes we'll just announce a theme (for example, "Why
People (Don't) Vote"). We are looking to set a tone of intellectual
enjoyment -- perhaps more heady than your average book club, but less
drama and footnotes than your average graduate school seminar. Sound like your thing? Please join us.
