West Campus High School Drama proudly presents the regional high school premiere of the Tony award and Pulitzer Prize winning musical Rent … the School Edition.
Rent… School Edition tells the story of a group of young people trying to discover who they are, what they stand for, and who they can trust. Looking for connection in an isolated age, they support each other's differences and relish their common ground. Rent is about a community of people, each with their own challenges, dreams, setbacks and passions creating a way to live and love together.
We have been extremely fortunate to have been given many of the costumes used in the National Tour of Rent which recently closed its doors February 2010 in Sacramento.
We appreciate our administration at WCHS for their support in presenting such a compelling and thought-provoking musical such as Rent …School Edition. There aren’t many high schools presenting this show because of the subject matter and the heated discussions that come with it. We are ready for the “discussions” to present themselves because to quote a line from Jonathan Larson, the composter of Rent, “Let he among us without sin, be the first to condemn”
